Pricing & Positioning
Which costs less? The U7 Lite lists at $99 and the U6 Pro at $159 — the newer Wi-Fi 7 AP is $60 cheaper. Both draw 13 W on standard 802.3af PoE, so an existing 802.3af switch or injector powers either. (U7 Lite specs)
The cheaper AP here is also the newer one, which is unusual in the UniFi range. The U7 Lite arrived in February 2025 as the $99 entry to Wi-Fi 7, priced level with the U6 Lite it succeeds. Launched in late 2021, the U6 Pro spent years as the mainstream Wi-Fi 6 pick and still sells at $159.
A buyer about to spend $159 on the proven U6 Pro now sees the Wi-Fi 7 U7 Lite for $60 less and wants to know what the extra money still buys. It buys a 4×4 5 GHz radio and more rated reach. It does not buy a newer generation or a faster port. For the rest of the range, how to choose a UniFi access point maps all nine ceiling models and the Access Points hub lists them side by side.
