Verdict

The same $279 as the Cloud Gateway Max and a different machine: an A73 processor, 5 Gbps of IPS, a 10 GbE RJ45 and two 10G SFP+ ports, and a 30 W PoE budget. The desktop gateway for a fibre line that actually delivers multi-gig.

Pros
  • 5 Gbps IDS/IPS — the highest of any desktop UniFi gateway
  • 10G SFP+ and 10 GbE RJ45 on the WAN side for fibre and multi-gig service
  • 30 W of PoE on board, enough for a camera or an access point
Cons
  • Wider than the Max at 212.8 mm, and DC-powered rather than USB-C
  • Rated 0 to 40 °C, a narrower range than the Max's -10 to 40 °C
  • The NVMe drive for Protect is still an extra purchase
Best forMulti-gig fibre lines, and anyone who wants 10G on the WAN without moving to a rack.
A UniFi rack: gateway, PoE panel, switch and patch panel above a network video recorder and NAS.
