UniFi U7 Pro Outdoor: what it is & who it's for

The U7 Pro's six-stream tri-band radio in a weatherproof housing (IPX6, or IP67 with the cable-gland door kit) with a directional antenna, rated for 465 m² against 140 m². It runs on the same PoE+ port and 2.5 GbE uplink as the indoor model, so the $90 premium is all enclosure and antenna. A patio, yard, driveway or outbuilding that needs Wi-Fi 7 from a unit built to live outside, fed from a PoE+ port.

Pros
  • IPX6 with the included seal and mount, IP67 with the cable-gland door kit, and rated from -30 to 60 °C
  • Coverage rated at 465 m², more than three times the 140 m² of the indoor U7 Pro
  • Directional internal antenna at 10 to 11 dBi, with external omni antennas listed for 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz
  • Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 with a 6 GHz radio, and a 26 dBm 6 GHz Extended Range mode in FCC/IC regions
  • PoE+ at 21 W and a 2.5 GbE uplink — the same switch port as an indoor U7 Pro
  • Wall and pole mounts included
Cons
  • $279, which is $90 more than the indoor U7 Pro with the same stream count and data rates
  • The 6 GHz antenna row lists the directional internal antenna only — the external omni antennas are listed for 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz
  • The 26 dBm 6 GHz figure applies to Extended Range mode, which Ubiquiti lists as FCC/IC only
  • 2.5 GbE uplink and 2×2 on 5 GHz, as on the indoor U7 Pro
Best forA patio, yard, driveway or outbuilding that needs Wi-Fi 7 from a unit built to live outside, fed from a PoE+ port.
