Pricing & Positioning
What does the extra $280 buy? The G6 Bullet lists at $199, the G6 Pro Bullet at $479. The Pro adds a 1/1.2" sensor in place of 1/1.8", 2.36× optical zoom, 40 m IR against 30 m, two-way audio, and a microSD slot. Resolution, frame rate, weather rating, and AI detections are the same. The two cameras share a shape and a job, and that is where the overlap ends. The G6 Bullet arrived with the first G6 wave in March 2025 as the default outdoor camera: one fixed lens, one Ethernet cable, $199. The G6 Pro Bullet followed in August 2025 as the first of the three zoom-lens Pro bodies, built around a larger sensor and a motorized lens.
At more than double the price, the Pro is not the better G6 Bullet for every wall. It is a different tool: a camera for one important view rather than one of several covering a perimeter. The sections below take the upgrades one at a time, because most buyers need only one or two of them. The rest of the range is mapped in how to choose a UniFi Protect camera and listed on the Security Cameras hub.
